Long time no post, blah, blah, blah. Anyway! I actually have a good excuse this time, I started a new job on the first of October! I am an administrative assitant at an accounting firm and really liking it. But wow, what an adjustmenmt. Working food service for the past 3 years didn't exactly prepare me for an 8-5 office position.Getting up at 7am didn't seem so bad at first when I was totally excited to have a new job, but as the weeks go on it gets harder and harder. Turning the clocks back did help by adding some more sunlight in the morning, though. But all in all it has been a great life change. I have a much better hourly rate, I never have to work nights or weekends, I get a lunch break and I actually get to sit down! And let's be honest about the best part: not having to worry about getting food or coffee on my clothes and getting to dress up every day! Dream come true.

I am totally inspired to start a "what I wore to work" section and post about how to dress for an office. I think I am finally adjusted enough to find time for that... but we'll see. The photos in this post were from the end of Autumn when it was still warm and sunny enough to not need a jacket. Dustin and I just hopped in the car on our day off and ended up at Buttermilk Falls in Ithaca. It's in a part of town that I rarely go to so I often forget that this beautiful site is so close by. In the summer there are kids and families everywhere swimming and lounging in the park but in the Fall you can get the place almost to yourself.

It almost looks like a fake background, right? I was overjoyed with how my hair and outfit turned out, everything really came together how I wanted it to! I recently cut 6 inches off my hair and dyed it brown so I am a little nostaligic for the blonde curls, but they'll be back someday. This outfit is actually a "saw it. pinned it. wore it" type deal, scroll to the bottom to see my inspiration!

I get a lot of ideas from Pinterest for outfit ideas--and this one I downright stole! I consider myself a creative person but I would have never thought of this combo. I have lots of layering ideas for winter in the office- so stay tuned for more!
Check out the blog that this pin is from! And stop by my Pinterest boards to see what I do all day ;)

minnie mouse

Outfit Details:
tank: thrifted, Victoria's Secret
belt: Kohl's, Croft and Barrow brand
purse: thrifted, H&M
skinny jeans: Gap
sandals: American Eagle
sunglasses: random kiosk
Long time no see! I took a little break from posting because I was getting increasingly frustrated by my photo quality...but I think I finally figured out what I was doing wrong! These photos don't look pixelated to me and the colors look as bright as I wanted. The red of this top looks so great against the blue sky, green grass and dark water. We shot these one evening out to dinner with Dustin's family. It's at one of our favorite restaurants "O'Malley's" which is a very laid-back place right on the water of Cayuga Lake, famous for it's crab legs and good times. People even drive their boats from all over to dock right at the restaurant. This place really represents summer to me and I'm so happy I made it out there at least once.
While these poka dots might be a bit over the top "minnie mouse," I absolutely love this outfit. I have worn the top without a belt before but it's just a tad too billowy... I suspect it may truly be a pajama top? I thought the belt tied in nicely with the purse and the brown on my sandals. It is a comfy and patriotic ensemble.
I have a lot more pictures coming soon! Now that I figured out some of the formatting issues I will not dread cropping photos quite as much. Happy end of summer/beginning of fall!

secret garden

Outfit Details:
tank top: Walmart
skirt: Target, Merona brand
shoes: Old Navy
bracelet: shop in Maine
sunglasses: random kiosk
Phew! I just got back from a crazy week! Took a bus to NYC, flew to San Diego, took a train to LA, flew back to NYC and then another bus back to Ithaca. It was an amazing time but I am exhausted! I guess it doesn't help that all we did was eat and drink and hardly sleep, right? Those photos will be coming shortly but first I wanted to show you guys my new pink skirt!

Greg and I were both off one night so we decided to go out for Thai food and I convinced him to take some pictures. The background is a parking lot where the mayor of Ithaca has a reserved spot but decided to use it as a little garden with benches instead...sooo Ithaca! It's a pretty oasis in the otherwise concrete downtown.

The skirt is a new purchase and I have worn it a few times already. I love the color but I am most obsessed with how comfy it is! I might go back and grab it in some more colors... how cute would it be with tights and boots for the fall/winter? My favorite way to style it so far is with a chambray shirt. I've had the top for a while but it's my first time wearing it, can you believe it's from Walmart? I thought the twist in the back was so perfect.

Not really sure what's going on with my photos recently, they are getting very pixelated when I add them to my blog posts...any techies out there willing to help this noob? Stay tuned for photos from California!

fancy eggs

Just a quick post today on a morning favorite of ours...breakfast burritos! Eggs in any shape or form are a go-to item for us and I just couldn't resist snapping a few pics of how pretty and colorful these wraps turned out. There's no recipe because it's just scrambled eggs with diced veggies and cheese, laid on a tortilla and smothered in salsa. They didn't look so hot when we rolled them up so I will spare you those images. They are delish and fast!

Hope I made you hungry! Don't worry, we will be back to our scheduled broadcasting with outfit posts very soon. Think pink skirts and striped shirts...
